Swatch Celebrates Springtime In Paris At Roland-garros French Open 2014
Discover the two tennis-themed tributes, Swatch Forehand and Backhand.
To fans of tennis around the world, springtime in Paris can mean only one thing: the Roland-Garros French Open. Nothing is more exciting than the spectacular, head-to-head battles on the red clay courts of the historic Roland-Garros stadium. Swatch is a huge fan of sports of all kinds, and the Roland-Garros French Open 2014 finds the Swiss watchmaker back in Paris with two tennis-themed tributes to one of the world’s greatest and most prestigious tournaments.
A smashing New Gent dubbed FOREHAND (SUOZ180) features a crisp blue and white tennis ball on a cut-away dial that gives a fascinating glimpse into the ticking heart of the watch. Key movement components are colored red and set off sharply against the blue and white ball. The case in transparent blue plastic takes the official tournament blue to the solid blue silicone straps and on under a bright red loop to a solid red plastic buckle. As on the courts, the companion piece to FOREHAND is BACKHAND (LZ112), here a sinuous Lady Double Tour. Its long, wraparound bracelet and plastic case are a crowd-pleasing, very loud pink, as are the Arabic numerals and indexes on the white dial. The flip side of the bracelet takes up the sporting theme with a long row of pink tennis balls.
FOREHAND and BACKHAND are packaged in special sleeves that play out the tennis-themed design, and both Roland-Garros Swatch Specials are available at Swatch stores across United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
