The tournament tees off on Thursday 29 January and will continue through Sunday 1 February. The tournament will feature Omega’s very own golfing ambassador superstars Rory McIlroy and Sergio Garcia who are ranked number one and number six in the world respectively.
Raynald Aeschlimann, Vice President and International Sales Director of OMEGA, said: “The OMEGA Dubai Desert Classic has grown and developed over the years to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the very best international golf tournaments. The appeal of the OMEGA Dubai Desert Classic, both globally and regionally, lies in its ability to attract top ranking golfers and to uphold the sophistication of the game. It is justifiably described today as the ‘Major of the Middle East’.”
Last year, the tournament celebrated 25 years of golfing excellence and as title sponsor, Omega was proud to work with event organisers to welcome every surviving previous champion to compete. Defending champion Stephen Gallacher held off intense challenges from a talented field.
