Tissot announces a collaboration with the manga UFO Robot Grendizer, merging two iconic characters from the 70s: the famous PRX and the super robot anime from Japan.
This association opens a new chapter in the history of Tissot, mixing Swiss craftsmanship and 70s design with manga pop culture. With the launch of the new Grendizer U series, new fans are welcomed into this fantastic world, while those familiar with the manga are invited on a nostalgic but joyful journey back in time.
This special edition watch combines the vintage design of the PRX with the iconic elements of the popular anime series. Both were originally launched in the 1970s. In Europe, the manga captured hearts across Europe from 1978, the same year as the first release of the Seastar, PRX original model.
This timepiece features a 40mm 316L stainless steel case and the blue dial, inspired by the blue of Grendizer itself, glows with a yellow Super-LumiNova® bust of the robot hero, complemented by a Harken-style second hand and a uniquely engraved rotor, which will for sure evoke nostalgia for any true fan. In the upper flange, there is a text in Japanese that reads "UFO ロボ グレンダイザー", the original title for Grendizer.
