Longines continues its legacy of timekeeping with its support for the Dubai World Cup and Longines Dubai Sheema Classic
With a rich legacy of precision and innovation spanning centuries, Longines is honoured to be at the heart of one of the most prestigious events on the global racing calendar, the Dubai World Cup. This esteemed event represents the pinnacle of excellence in the world of horse racing, with the Swiss brand serving as the Official Partner, Official Timekeeper, and Official Watch.

Longines, based in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, since 1832, is one of the world’s best-known watchmakers. The brand’s longstanding dedication to excellence is reflected in its support for elite-level equestrian sports. In fact, Longines and the world of equestrian sports have always been closely linked by an unwavering passion and shared values. Tradition, Elegance, Performance, and the quest for excellence: this commitment dates back to the 19th century, just a few years after the creation of the watch factory in Switzerland.

Today, this passion burns brighter than ever with the brand's involvement in the world's most important institutions and leading equestrian events in show jumping, dressage, and flat racing such as the Dubai World Cup.  Longines’ backing of Dubai Racing Club includes partnering with two meetings during the Dubai Racing Carnival, further solidifying its integral role in the Dubai World Cup weekend.

This year again, Longines is proud to lend its support to the Longines Dubai Sheema Classic, taking place at Meydan Racecourse on Saturday, 5 April. The Longines Dubai Sheema Classic is the main supporting race of the Dubai World Cup. In 2024, it was won by Godolphin’s Rebel’s Romance, trained by Charlie Appleby, who added this prestigious victory to his top-level wins in the US and Germany.

The Longines Dubai Sheema Classic is scheduled as the eighth race out of the nine on the card, an eagerly anticipated event that showcases the world’s finest thoroughbreds, further elevating the prestige of the Dubai World Cup and Longines' esteemed position in the world of horseracing.
