Mont Blanc introduces its special edition Ultra Black


Michael Pastoureau author of the book “Black – The History of a color” tells the fascinating social history of the color black in Europe. Black has always been a forceful – and ambivalent shaper of social, symbolic, ideological meaning in European societies. An icon of design Montblanc Meisterstück taken on a surprising new appearance inspired by the Montblanc heritage. The matt precious resin of Meisterstück Ultra Black is a reference in optic and tactile feeling to the Montblanc original /historically using ebonite, a matt material that contain rubber, Sulphur and linseed oil giving the pens their distinctive texture and scent. The special edition writing instrument, only available throughout 2016, pays tribute to 110 year legacy highlighting the unique feeling that the matt finish creates when its surface is touched. Crafted by sandblasting the precious resin surface, yet keeping the shiny finish of the original fittings and foreparts. Mysterious and surprising, the icon of writing culture in its new finish is available as a Fountain Pen LeGrand, Rollerball LeGrand, Ballpoint Fountain Pen Classique, Rollerball Classique, Ballpoint Pen Classique and the new Midsize.
