The first wristwatch of the world was for a very special lady, a queen. Abraham-Louis Breguet created it for Caroline Murat, the Queen of Naples, in 1812. Unfortunately, this watch, bearing number 2639, disappeared in the course of time and remains lost. When the House decided to launch a new collection inspired by this historical piece, it turned to the archives where the founder carefully recorded all his works. Breguet’s watchmakers found the description of an oblong minute-repeating watch with a thermometer on a strap made of hair and gold thread that had to be knotted around the wrist, which became the inspiration for the Reine de Naples models.

ONE-OF-A-KIND TIMEPIECE

This one-of-a-kind timepiece became the inspiration for the Reine de Naples line, whose models are instantly recognizable thanks to the shape of their cases, which are oblong. With customary care and precision, Breguet's watchmakers have created a symbol of refinement in a contemporary jewelry watch.
The models in the Reine de Naples line, anthems of praise to femininity, are inspired by this legendary creation: resolutely modern, refined and suffused with an exquisitely poetic touch.

THE REINE DE NAPLES 8908

This version is distinguished by an association between a rose gold case set with 128 diamonds and a dial partially crafted from Tahitian mother-of-pearl. It effectively enhances the main attributes of the original model, namely the moon phases and the power-reserve indicator at 12 o’clock; along with the offset hours chapter and small seconds at 6 and 7 o’clock respectively.
