Longines Ultra-Chron Diver: Pushing Boundaries in Precision and Performance
Longines redefined its legacy in dive watch innovation with the return of the Ultra-Chron Diver, an icon first introduced in 1968 as the world’s first high-frequency diver’s watch. In a bold first for the brand, the latest model featured a carbon case, showcasing Longines' continued drive to merge technical mastery with pioneering materials.
Crafted from unidirectional carbon fiber and epoxy resin, the 43mm case took inspiration from aeronautics, offering ultra-lightweight strength with a unique marbled finish on every piece. Tipping the scales at under 80 grams, the watch maintains a robust water resistance of up to 300 meters. A fixed titanium bezel with an engraved aluminium insert, titanium crown and case back, and a sand-blasted anthracite dial complete the high-performance aesthetic, protected by a sapphire crystal. Super-LumiNova® blue luminescence illuminates the silver indexes and grey PVD-coated hands for clarity in all conditions.
High Frequency, Certified Precision
At the heart of the Ultra-Chron Carbon beat Longines' high-frequency Calibre L.836.6, oscillating at 5 Hz for enhanced stability and resistance to shocks. Equipped with a silicon balance-spring, it delivers magnetic resistance ten times higher than ISO 764 standards. Certified by TIMELAB as a chronometer, the movement underwent a rigorous 15-day accuracy test to meet the highest standards of performance.
The timepiece is paired with a black technical fabric strap, secured by a titanium buckle, and presented in a bespoke black box—a fitting tribute to Longines’ commitment to innovation, precision, and design.
