Magic Moonshine Gold made its return – this time on a mission to Earthphase
The iconic Moonshine™ Gold made a triumphant return in the newest release from the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection: MISSION TO EARTHPHASE – MOONSHINE GOLD. Available exclusively only on August 9, the night of the full moon, this highly anticipated model brought together innovation, imagination, and a touch of space-inspired whimsy. At its heart lay a unique complication, an earth phase indicator, adorned with OMEGA’s proprietary Moonshine™ Gold and charming illustrations from the world of Snoopy. This timepiece served as a poetic reminder that the first step to going further was daring to dream.
Swatch introduced the earth phase complication the previous year, and it remained one of the most inventive horological features in the collection. Mimicking how Earth would appear from the Moon, this indicator followed a reverse 29.5-day cycle, contrasting the traditional moon phase. When the Moon was full from Earth’s view, the earth phase showed a new Earth and vice versa, causing the indicator to move counterclockwise. Below it, Snoopy and Woodstock sat on the Moon, gazing at Earth, with a hidden message that only revealed itself under UV light, a playful nod to the Moonwatch’s pioneering heritage and a tribute to big dreamers.
MISSION TO EARTHPHASE - MOONSHINE GOLD featured a striking dark navy Bioceramic case, exclusive to this release. It included the classic Speedmaster Moonwatch details, asymmetrical case, recessed subdials, and now, at 2 o’clock, a moon phase indicator featuring two full moons rendered in Moonshine™ Gold. One moon was styled in the beloved Snoopy aesthetic, while the other featured a net-like design, a nod to the Sturgeon Moon that rose that August. From the VELCRO® rubber strap to the Earth-themed battery cover, this model blended astronaut cool with playful sophistication.
