Breguet Reine de Naples 9935: The New Face of Femininity in Watchmaking
Inspired by a timepiece created between 1810 and 1812 for Caroline Murat, Queen of Naples and sister of Napoleon I, the Reine de Naples collection drew on Breguet’s heritage. Though the original watch no longer exists, archival records revealed its oblong shape and pioneering status as one of the first wristwatches.
Unveiled for Breguet’s 250th anniversary, the Reine de Naples 9935 was the collection’s first fully feminine model, each engraved with a commemorative inscription. Inspired by an existing case, it features a reworked movement with an enlarged moon phase, highlighting hours, minutes, small seconds, and the moon phase in pure horological harmony.
For the first time in the collection, six pear-shaped diamonds are set between the gold Breguet Arabic numerals. The sapphire case back bore the engraving “BREGUET 250 YEARS,” revealing a 950 platinum oscillating weight with Breguet gilding, hand-guilloché with an exclusive “Petit Trianon” motif created for this anniversary line.
