The prestigious and pioneering Swiss watchmaker Blancpain illuminated the façade of Dubai's iconic Burj Khalifa tower, the world's tallest building and one of the most impressive architectural constructions of all time.
On 21 October and 26 December, visitors circulating in downtown Dubai enjoyed two captivating immersions into Blancpain's diver's watch collection and underwater universe thanks to a giant-size video clip projection on the over 800m-high Burj Khalifa.
Blancpain, which is present in Dubai with two Boutiques and at several Rivoli stores, enjoys significant historical links with the ocean, having launched the world's first modern diving watch, the Fifty Fathoms, in 1953.
Founded in 1735 in the Swiss Jura, Blancpain is known as the world’s oldest watch Brand. Loyal to its tradition of innovation and confirmed by countless horological complications invented over the years, the Manufacture de Haute Horlogerie is constantly pushing the boundaries of watchmaking. This philosophy is conveyed through each of its creations and all its collections, including the classic Villeret, the legendary Fifty Fathoms diver's watch, the dainty Ladybird models and the one-of-a-kind Métiers d'Art pieces.
The Fifty Fathoms, a mainstay of Blancpain's watch offerings, embodies the Brand's passion for the underwater world. Its birth marked the starting point of Blancpain's collaborations with the ocean community, which have typified the 70 years since. The latest additions to the collection are extraordinary technical achievements as well as a tribute to the pioneers who made scuba diving possible. It is their dedication which opened up whole new vistas for underwater exploration and continue to inspire Blancpain in using innovative materials and new technical solutions in order to fulfil the most sophisticated demands.
